A hypercomplex number, in mathematics, is a complex number consisting of more than two square roots of negative one, creating multiple simulated dimensions.

Square root, in mathematics, is the number which, when squared, yields another number. Square root, in mathematics, is also the positive number which, when squared, yields another number; the principal square root.

To square, in mathematics, of a value, term or expression, is to multiply by itself; to raise to the second power.

A power, in mathematics, is a product of equal factors.

A factor, in mathematics, is any of various objects multiplied together to form some whole.

A principal square root, in mathematics, is the positive square root of a number; the positive number which, when squared, yields another number.

A dimension, in physics, is one of the physical properties that are regarded as fundamental measures of a physical quantity, such as mass, length and time.

Mass, in physics, is the quantity of matter which a body contains, irrespective of its bulk or volume. It is one of four fundamental properties of matter. It is measured in kilograms in the SI system of measurement.

Length, in mathematics, is the distance between the two ends of a line segment.

Time, in physics, is a dimension of spacetime with the opposite metric signature to space dimensions; the fourth dimension. Time, in physics, also is the change associated with the second law of thermodynamics; the physical and psychological result of increasing entropy.

Spacetime, in physics, is the four-dimensional continuum of the three spatial dimensions plus time. Spacetime, in physics, also is an n-dimensional continuum consisting of dimensions of both space and time; normally spacetime is considered as having 4 dimensions (x, y, z, t), but higher-dimensional spacetimes are often encountered in theoretical physics, e.g. the 5-dimensional spacetime of Kaluza-Klein theory or the 11 dimensions of spacetime in M-theory. Spacetime, in relativity, also is a specific region of the universe with mathematically different properties than the surrounding spacetime; synonymous with “metric” within the context of general relativity.

Four-dimensional, in physics, means relating to the four dimensions of space-time (three spatial dimensions with the addition of time as the fourth).

A continuum is a continuous series or whole, no part of which is noticeably different from its adjacent parts, although the ends or extremes of it are very different from each other; a continuous extent.

Spatial means pertaining to (the dimension of) space.

Temporal means of or relating to time as distinguished from space.

Theoretical means of or relating to theory; abstract; not empirical.

Abstract means conceptual.

Conceptual means of, or relating to concepts or mental conception.

A concept is an understanding retained in the mind, from experience, reasoning and imagination; a generalization (generic, basic form), or abstraction (mental impression), of a particular set of instances or occurrences (specific, though different, recorded manifestations of the concept).

Conception is the power or faculty of apprehending of forming an idea in the mind; the power of recalling a past sensation or perception; the ability to form mental abstractions. A conception is an image, idea, or notion formed in the mind; a concept, plan or design.

Empirical means pertaining to or based on experience (often, in contrast with having a basis in theoretical explanation). Empirical also means pertaining to, derived from, or testable by observations made using the physical senses or using instruments which extend the senses. Empirical, in philosophy of science, means verifiable by means of scientific experimentation. Antonym of empirical is theoretical.

An experience is a collection of events and/or activities from which an individual or group may gather knowledge, opinions, and skills.
