Proposition is the act of offering (an idea) for consideration. A proposition is an idea or a plan offered. Proposition, in business settings, the terms of a transaction offered. Proposition, in logic, is the content of an assertion that may be taken as being true or false and is considered abstractly without reference to the linguistic sentence that constitutes the assertion; a proposition, in Aristotelian logic, is a predicate of a subject that is denied or affirmed and connected by a copula. A proposition, in mathematics, is an assertion so formulated that it can be considered true or false. A proposition, in mathematics, is an assertion which is provably true, but not important enough to be called a theorem.
An offering is that which has been offered; a sacrifice. An offering is something put forth, bid, proffered or tendered, such as for sale.
A sacrifice is the offering of anything to a god; a consecratory rite. Sacrifice is the destruction or surrender of anything for the sake of something else; the devotion of something desirable to something higher, or to a calling deemed more pressing. A sacrifice is a loss of profit.
Consecratory means of or pertaining to consecration.
Consecration is the act or ceremony of consecrating; the state of being consecrated; dedication.
To consecrate is to declare something holy, or make it holy by some procedure.
Holy means dedicated to a religious purpose or a god. Holy means revered in a religion. Holy means morally perfect or flawless, or nearly so.
Dedicated means devoted; loyal; conscientious. Dedicated means used or intended for a particular purpose.
Devoted means vowed; dedicated; consecrated. Devoted means strongly emotionally attached; very fond of someone or something. Devoted means zealous; characterized by devotion.
Vowed means undertaken in accordance with a vow; solemnly promised.
A vow is a solemn promise to perform some act, or behave in a specified manner, especially a promise to live and act in accordance with the rules of a religious order. A vow is a declaration or assertion.
Solemn means characterized by or performed with appropriate or great ceremony or formality. Solemn means deeply serious and sombre; grave. Solemn means inspiring serious feelings or thoughts; sombrely impressive.
A rite is a religious custom. A rite is a prescribed behavior.
Custom is frequent repetition of the same behavior; way of behavior common to many; ordinary manner; habitual practice; method of doing, living or behaving. Custom, in law, is long-established practice, considered as unwritten law, and resting for authority on long consent; compare prescription. Custom is traditional beliefs or rituals.
Repetition is the act or an instance of repeating or being repeated.
To repeat is to do or say again (and again). To repeat is to happen again; recur. To repeat is to echo the words of (a person).
Ordinary is being part of the natural order of things; normal, customary, routine. Ordinary is having no special characteristics or function; everyday, common, mundane; often deprecatory.
Extraordinary means not ordinary; exceptional; unusual. Extraordinary means remarkably good. Extraordinary means special or supernumerary.
Supernumerary means greater in number than. Supernumerary means beyond the prescribed or standard amount or number; excess, extra. Supernumerary means beyond what is necessary; redundant.
Deprecatory means that deprecates; apologetic or disparaging.
Customary means in accordance with, or established by, custom or common usage. Customary means holding or held by custom.
