Truth about artificial intelligence (AI): movie lies, misconceptions, fantasy vs. reality
The more I work on developing artificial intelligence and robotics, the more I realize the AI truth.
The media sensationalizes AI, the Hollywood movies demonize AI, and pundits terrorize people by portraiting AI as grevious threat to humankind—because that’s what gets attention and makes money.
I realize that the current exploitation and wrongful portrayal of the notion of dangerous and catastrophic AI for financial gain couldn’t be further from the truth.
I talk about the true nature of artificial intelligence, in my next transhumanism book, titled ‘Human Psychology and Language Analysis: For Advancing Linguistic Artificial Intelligence’, available at Amazon, Apple Books, and Robocentric Patreon page.
I talk more about this on my YouTube channel and podcast.
In truth, artificial intelligence will be no more than boring, mundane tool that people use everyday to increase their productivity, just like all the other technological tools.
There are two popular misconceptions about artificial intelligence (AI): killing and replacing humans. We all know which movie series popularized the notion of artificial intelligence and robots killing and replacing humans.
In reality, artificial intelligence and robots killing and replacing humans will be physically impossible, because humans will never allow that to happen.
Humans underestimate how powerful their collective will is: The human will for collective survival will never allow machines to end humanity.
Humans underestimate how advanced their intelligence is: The collective human intelligence will never allow machines to end humanity.
The discrepancy between the movie artificial intelligence and the real artificial intelligence is that artificial intelligence will never surpass the human intelligence, and will never be better at being human.
Humans cannot be replaced by machines: Artificial intelligence can never replace humans.
The artificial intelligence humanity doomsday scenario is ridiculous: Humans will not be replaced by machines. Humanity will live on.
The focus should be making machines that will be useful to humans, not focusing on a ridiculous doomsday scenario.
Some people always believed in doomsday scenarios since the dawn of humanity. I believe in humanity lasting for billions of years.
The simple truth about artificial intelligence is that artificial intelligence will be no more than a technological tool with its own limits that cannot surpass and replace humans, but will augment and supplement humans.
Artificial intelligence is no more than a technological tool that will have nothing to do with humanity’s end: let’s stick to that, instead of making artificial intelligence look like what it will never be.
