The American consumers spend their money in a certain number of spending categories.
The American consumers spend on housing, transportation, food, personal insurance and pensions, healthcare, entertainment, apparel and services, education, personal care products and services, alcoholic beverages, tobacco products and smoking supplies, and reading—in decreasing amounts in the order listed; that is, the American consumers spend the most on housing, and spend the least on reading.
The undisputed king in the American consumer spending is housing.
To me, getting into a business, that people already spend money on is a smart thing to do.
